Settings — Hardware
The Settings ▸ Hardware page is the org-wide inventory of physical equipment your organization owns and assigns — laptops, monitors, phones, peripherals. It is admin-only (Owner / Admin / HR Management). Members see a read-only view of their own assigned hardware under Profile ▸ General ▸ Assets.

What’s on the page
Section titled “What’s on the page”- Rollup cards — total units, available, assigned, and the number of hardware types in use.
- By type — a per-type breakdown (total / available / assigned).
- Inventory list — every live unit with its type, manufacturer / model, serial, MAC address, and current holder. Filter by type and status (available / assigned).
Adding and assigning
Section titled “Adding and assigning”- + Add hardware — pick a Type (from your
asset_hardware_typeManaged List), then manufacturer, model, serial, MAC, and notes. New units default to Unassigned so they sit in the available pool. - Assign an available unit to a team member, or Return an assigned one to the pool.
- Edit updates the unit’s details; Delete removes it from inventory entirely and closes any active assignment.
- Track every laptop and monitor — re-issued used hardware counts too.
- Assign on hire and return on departure so the available pool stays accurate.
- Manage the Type options at Settings ▸ Managed Lists.
